I used to go out with this one guy, and it didn’t work out even before anything could happen. I tried to make it work, but he simply don’t want it. So, I simply move on.
Just now I got a phone call from a mutual friend that knows both me and that guy. I haven’t heard from him in ages. He called to ask me if I’m still in town, what am I doing now and if I want to meet with that guy. Yes, that guy, the guy that walked out before anything could start. I was baffled when I heard him asking if I want to meet him again.
The thing is, when we ended our relationship or whatever it was it wasn’t a pretty sight. I prefer to meet my ex boyfriend than that guy. Yes, that guy who was merely.. how should I say? A fling?
After all this time, now he wants to meet up again? For what? A chance to hook up? As if.
We learned that as we grow up we are expected to be a certain way by the society. As part of the society we are expected to be that expectation and so much more and handle the pressure that the competition may exert. Many people warned us about these pressure and expectations. The danger of always trying to fulfill that expectations and what harm it may bring to us.
Little did they know, that the biggest pressure and the highest expectations come from none other than ourselves.
